Tuscan masterpieces of wrought iron craftsmanship
Unique handcrafted creations – a passion spanning four generations
The story of the Biagiotti family began in 1908, when Alfredo Biagiotti opened his first workshop in Pienza. Since then, the knowledge and passion of wrought iron craftsmanship have been passed down from father to son – for four generations. Today, Alfredo’s grandsons and great-grandsons – Alfredo, Samuele, Alberto and Giovanni – lead the workshop, where each creation bears the imprint of fire, hammer and the human hand.
From design to masterpiece
Each handcrafted piece is created through an individual design process: from hand-drawn sketches, carefully selected materials and traditional techniques. Heated to 900–1000 °C, iron comes to life in the hands of Biagiotti master artisans, combining the inspiration of the Tuscan landscape with generations of expertise. The collection includes both original family-designed pieces and authentic reproductions of Renaissance and medieval works — where tradition meets contemporary design.
Art that shapes the Tuscan landscape
Biagiotti Pienza’s wrought iron creations can be found in numerous iconic Tuscan locations – from the dome ornament of the Pienza Cathedral to the flag flying atop the tower of Castello Banfi. They appear as elegant decorative elements in Mediterranean villas, gardens and interior spaces around the world.
The family operates two showrooms in Pienza: one in the historic town center and another next to the workshop on the outskirts. Here, visitors can gain personal insight into how these exceptional masterpieces are created. The Biagiotti workshop has also been honored with the “Artisan Excellence Award”, as one of the finest examples of Tuscan craftsmanship.
In addition to the selection available in our webshop, Biagiotti Pienza’s unique wrought iron creations can also be viewed, purchased and commissioned in Hungary through our partner showroom, La Meridiana (1023 Budapest, Ürömi utca 45).
