For centuries, the brand name Busatti is a synonym for quality and long-lasting beauty. It’s a family company that has literally woven itself into Tuscan history. Even though its origins date back to a long time ago, its creations can serve as true ornaments of the most modern homes of the 21st century. Since 1842, the creed of the company Busatti has been to transmit the beauty and traditions of Tuscany to the world. The family company is run by the eighth generation today and has its own or franchise shops on all five continents.

For over 170 years, the family-owned firm of Busatti has been producing traditional Tuscan natural fibre fabrics in Anghiari, Italy. All the phases of work, from spinning to the last stitch, are carried out following century-old traditions. Busatti textiles are made from natural threads; the raw long staple thread is treated with olive oil before being spun and linen and cotton are dyed on the thread using Busatti colours. The high quality of natural threads is critical in the manufacture of the products. It is exactly thanks to this careful preparation process that Busatti products show their real beauty after being washed several times – and they are also extremely durable. The same high-quality procedure is applied during embroidery, as well; every single beautiful pattern is created with the same passion and attention. The company has an incredibly rich world of colours and range of product.

“To this day, the company Busatti in Anghiari has produced traditional Tuscan cotton fabric and calico. The light yellow paint is obtained from genista, or French broom in the spring and onion in the winter. To this day they have been making the same orange, brown and red shawls that the peasants (contadini) used to tie around themselves to bring the food in them to the land. Some of their fabrics were fashioned to look like Virgin Mary’s dress on paintings or coat of arms. For generations, there have been Busatti waffle weave towels in the bathroom, and classic white woven Busatti blankets covers on the beds in Vagli. In the Busatti factory, the grey rough woven wool vests are still produced that were most certainly worn once by the ploughmen in Vagli. The Busatti family has been working with linen, striped cotton fabric and thick blankets since Napoleon first marched by here.
