The world-class artisan chocolate bars of La Molina are not only incredibly delicious but also a delight for the eye. La Molina is built on the master trio of taste, excellence and creativity.
The chocolate factory in Quarrata, Tuscany, was born after endless experiments, and planning but above all, hard work, love and true passion. Interestingly, the modern headquarters of La Molina look like a huge praline from a distance. (In the 1970s, the place was planned to be constructed as a five-sided building using a peculiar technique but 30 years later it was almost completely destroyed by a giant fire. Elisabetta Cafissi, the owner of La Molina fell in love with this building and had it renovated according to the original plans.)
La Molina chocolate bars are made from natural and fresh ingredients only. The company perfected the preparation and storage of their range to be able to create their products of excellent quality and great visual effect without preservatives, artificial aromas or essential oils. The name La Molina has distant roots. It was the Tuscan artist, Riccardo Fattori, who coined the company branding and the packaging. By choosing the name La Molina, he wanted to pay a tribute to the personal chocolate maker of Maria Theresa who is remembered in history as “molinillo” – a Spanish nickname.
