1999
This is where our story begins. A story with each other — and with Tuscany. Have you seen the Italian film Il ciclone (known in Hungarian as Latin vér)? The one where beautiful flamenco dancers turn the life of a quiet Tuscan village upside down? We had. On the very same day, in the very same cinema — just not sitting next to each other yet.
At the Bem Cinema, neither of us could have imagined that Leonardo Pieraccioni had not only directed a film, but somehow our destiny as well. Months later, when Gergő walked into my rented room — which happened to belong to his family — his eyes caught a scene from Latin vér pinned above my bed, along with an old cinema ticket. That moment brought a smile to both our faces — and set our hearts in motion.
In the new millennium, we were already travelling together in a small Fiat — though not yet to Tuscany.
2005
We fulfilled a long-cherished five-year dream on a hot, beautiful June morning, setting off towards San Gimignano. The air shimmered — partly from the lack of air conditioning, but even more from anticipation. This was our first journey to Tuscany together.
By the time we arrived, the sun had already set. Lights flickered across the hills from agriturismo houses, until Mario’s cypress-lined estate appeared before us — for one week (and one extra day), it became our home.
We visited the filming locations of Latin vér: Poppi, Stia, Laterina, Florence. Walking through the scenes of our favourite film, we relived the very first moments of our own story. Right there, in that moment, we knew: there would never be a year we wouldn’t return.
And indeed — we fell irreversibly in love with Tuscany.
2010
After ten beautiful years, we got married. Where else could we have said “I do” but in picturesque Pienza? On one of the most memorable days of our lives, we celebrated with our Tuscan friends — speaking imperfect Italian, yet loving each other, and the place that forever connected us, with complete devotion.
The years passed, but Tuscany never lost its magic. We always discover something new to admire — and always leave something unseen, giving us a reason to return.
2019
Busatti, Idea Toscana, La Molina, Pure Stagioni – benvenuti in Ungheria. We brought Toscaneria to life.
For us, “From Tuscany with love” is not a slogan — it is our story. We brought home everything we had found in Tuscany: beauty, quality, and human stories.
From that moment on, we were no longer just travellers. We became “bridge builders” — connecting cultures, landscapes and people.
2021
A new member joined our portfolio: Biagiotti Pienza. The Biagiotti family’s timeless, hand-forged ironworks can be found across Tuscany — and now also enrich homes in Hungary.
2023
A defining milestone for us was the presentation of our first Hungarian-inspired textile: the Busatti Zwack Unicum collection. It brought together an iconic Hungarian brand and a multi-generational Tuscan textile manufactory.
This collaboration was born from shared values — where tradition, family heritage, exceptional quality and international recognition were woven into one.
This year quite literally brought light into our lives, as we created a joint lighting collection with Hungary’s oldest porcelain manufactory, the Hollóházi Porcelain Manufactory. In this collaboration, a shared commitment to craftsmanship, elegance and creativity came together.
2024
A new addition joined our portfolio: Acqua di Bolgheri — a unique world of Tuscan herbal traditions and natural fragrances.
In May 2024, the Busatti Furmint design was created in tribute to the historic wine region of Tokaj-Hegyalja, in collaboration with four Hungarian families closely connected to the region. At the heart of the collection stands the Furmint grape — one of the most defining symbols of Tokaj.
A distinguished collaboration was also realised with the Gödöllő Royal Palace, for which we designed a collection of cultural significance. In December 2024, we presented the Busatti Sisi collection, created in honour of Queen Elisabeth of Hungary. Its patterns intertwine meaningful historical symbols with the elegance of the palace’s unique Baroque setting.
2025
This year marked the creation of our Busatti Balaton collection. One of the embroidered motifs of the elegant grey-and-white striped placemat design was created in tribute to the Tihany Abbey. It is a special joy for us that these textiles have become part of the Abbey’s Visitor Centre.
In November 2025, at the Széchényi Hall of the Hungarian National Museum, we had the honour of receiving the prestigious “Széchenyi Enterprise of the Year 2025” Grand Prize from the Széchenyi family.
It is a profound honour for us that our work was considered worthy of the Széchenyi spirit, and that this recognition affirms not only the activities of Toscaneria, but also the values behind it.
2026
We continue to represent the natural and cultural heritage of Tuscany, interwoven with Hungarian traditions and identity — in our own distinctive way.
In March, Matyó heritage was brought to life once again through our collaboration with the Museum of Ethnography. The Busatti “Matyó” collection unites Hungarian folk-art traditions with world-class Italian weaving culture, placing a pattern heritage from the last century into a new, contemporary context.
We thank our brands and partners for being part of this journey — and for allowing us to continue writing this story together.
